This article analyzes the informative treatment that the three most important Mexican newspapers dedicated at the arrival in Mexico in 1937 of the known as “Morelia’s Children”. These formed part of the called War Children, which the Republican government sent to some foreign countries during the Spanish Civil war (1936-1939), in order to remove them from the conflict and to obtain international help. Mexico was the destination of one of these infantile groups, composed by approximately 500 children, who were received with great enthusiasm by the government of Lázaro Cárdenas.
